1. Hangila Mama - Aruni Chandrika

Recorded at Kothmale FM the singer is a young girl from a nearby village, Nawalapitiya Warakawa. She says she has spied a tiny butterfly in the garden and so she waits and hides planning to catch it. She observes the butterfly sucking honey from the jasmine and playfully scolds it as being a little thief.  Whilst watching, she is faced with the beauty of the butterfly and is surprised. She does not catch the butterfly but continues to observe.

2. Singha Dhaja - Nadeepa Samuduni/ Nilmany Chandrakanthi Original Compostion: Mahanama Abewardana

'Singha dhaja' means 'Sinhala flag' and this song makes reference to the lion, the national emblem. 'We are like lion cubs and we are going forward'.

3. Matale Opalagala - R.G Himalatha  (writer and  singer)  

Recorded by Kandy Community Radio, 1988, this song is a lullaby. She sings to her baby, 'while you are sleeping the angels will come and wrap you in clothes of clouds'.

4. Mahaweli Mahimaya - Manikay Samarathunga

The song, recorded by Kothmale FM, is about the Mahaweli river which flows through the region and is Sri Lanka's second longest river. She talks about the origins of the river, Sri Pada (Adams' Peak), a pilgimege site, known as Lord Budda's footprint. She sings that the Mahweli River is the queen of Sri Lanka and she is building Sri Lanka as she flows through the lands.

5. Mee Bindu- K.B Weerasingha

This song, called 'honey drops', is an original song by a homeless man from Gampola who is a street singer. He sings 'my songs are like honey drops, so please listen every day and give me some support to live.'

Palitha is an announcer at Kothmale Fm. He sings a poetic song titled "If you are the moon" which laments upon the death and rebirth cycle of nature.
