This is the indigenous tribal Uru Warige Vanniya	The indigenous people of sri lanka are basically divided in to 07 tribes.Most of them live in the area called Mahiyangana. On the 26 th of November year 2000, we paid a visit to their village to meet the leader of the indigenous, people . The objectives behind this visit was to find out their traditions, their current problems and broadcast them on radio in order to educate the genaral public and derect their current socioeconomic hardships to the appropriate authorities.  It was a wonderful tour indeed. Guess what? We did something els too that day. This tour was organized and sponsored by The Green Lanka Nature Conservation Association. In honour of the efforts and his passion to preserve the envvironment, The indigenous trible leader was awarded the honorary life Membership of the Green lanka Nature Conservation Association and he was the first person in Sri lanka to become a honourary life mamber of the association.
